How could I be a blogger and not do a post about Death of Autotune... What would that make me look like??? Anyway, Jay-Z rocked the blocks at the top of hip-hop with his newest song saying that the Autotune is dead. Now we all know most mainstream artists nowadays make their living with the autotune. Even his top recruit Kanye did 808s and Heartbreak in 100% autotune.
Attached is the song and of course the video of T-Pain on stage at Summer Jam with Jay-Z bopping along while Jay-Z slowly murks his career for 4 minutes... Not planned and too funny and classic.

The new Bape United States site has launched. It's like the old application that used to be installed except on the web now.
Interesting part is, there's a greyed out button at the top that says "shop". So we'll be able to buy Bape online soon?

Nike did two commercials to commemorate the NBA Playoffs being in full effect. Sparknotes: One shows a young gung-ho LeBron trying to get Kobe excited about the Playoffs. There is a lot of powder (lol). The other one shows an older yet smug Kobe Bryant looking for three certain prized possessions of his. Watch and laugh.

I guess you could say I raped VladTV today since OnSmash has been on their bullsh*t. Anyway, DJ Webstar made a hit with this song. And it's funny because the song popped even tho everyone is tired of the autotune. The beat hits hard, and I can imagine hearing it in the club (I haven't been lately). Anyway...
According to Star and Buc Wild, he found himself at the mercy of the West Indian coochie. He had no choice but to do what he did lol.

I support it. Shout out to Cali and all the people out there doing it. Shout out to Texas too and all the people down there doing it. At the end of the day, life's about having fun (part of it at least) and this looks like fun. People say it's stupid but... I supported Getting Lite, I supported the whole Harlem World thing, so why not...
Here are some videos to help you form your opinion.

I'm not going to lie... I'm looking forward to Crime Pays. What makes me do that is, Cam goes hard as always. He's no Nas, but he's still skilled (outside of his tooty fruity business). Camron is a rapper that has stayed consistent. Right now, we've got artists going after other genres and other populations, and a whole new generation of rappers coming out that kind of remind us of the whole backpacker movement. Cam keeps is 100% as usual and hasn't changed. Prime example: No Homo. People were going around saying "real men don't need to say no homo" and yet Cam is out there still saying it with no shame in his game. I like that about him and Crime Pays will be a decent album. Plus: Cookies wit some apple juice...

Secret Society has teamed up with Vitamin Water and New Era to produce exclusive hats. The result is nothing short of amazing... These promo-only hats utilize only the most supreme materials including Cashmere uppers and bill and a satin underbill. All this adds up to a price worth around $100. "Vitamin Water" is written on the upper with the flavor written on the underbill. Check out the pictures below.

Baby speaks on being gay *cough* *cough* I mean... Kissing Wayne on the lips back in 2002.
Now he goes "That's my son. If he was right here I'd kiss him again". What is up with all this open flaming homosexuality in the rap community from Kanye to Baby and Wayne... Now, homosexuality, whatever. FLAMING homosexuality I think is inappropriate in ANY setting because it's over the top and that's the point where you're forcing something on other people.
Keep in mind, Wayne isn't really his son (in blood). If anything, that relationship is something that was built through music and entertainment... So the kissing on the lips means there's something behind the scenes going on. Someone dig up the medical records like they did to Pac...
Verdict: Wayne and Baby are both gay. Kanye gets called gay by default (sorry ye).
It looks like Kelis' Milkshake brought Nas to the yard and probably a ton of other buys (I'd probably go too) but now that chapter is at an end. Will they get back together, or will the Nas Kelis Divorce go through and end all. The Nas Kelis Divorce chapter is going to be a turbulent one.
But... Being the Nas fan that I am, I still think Nas will rock through the divorce with Kelis.
The numbers came in on Wednesday. Neilsen Soundscan is reporting that Rick Ross has moved 158,000 copies of "Deeper Than Rap" (sorry Ricky I pirated it and loved every minute of it). What's even more alarming is that this sold more than Jadakiss' "The Last Kiss" which sold around 150,000. "Deeper Than Rap" debuted at number 1. That's freaking right. Number 1.
Then came the whole scandal about Ross dissing Eminem, then Banks (bitchass) getting involved... Whatever the drama may be, Eminem is trash and Ross called him a "honkey"... Big deal. It's between 50 and Ross so I actually agree they should leave Eminem out of it. I digress (did I use that right?).
Check the video to see how Fif feels. Doesn't seem like he caught any feelings. That would be too easy...
Stussy, known for teaming up with people and their iconic and curvy font, has teamed up with Stones Throw records to make four tees out of two designs and two colorways for their 2009 tour. Two will be sold on the Stones Throw US Tour and the other two will be sold at Stussy shops.
Big ups to @stonesthrow up on that Twitter. It's funny how my title has that typical "Brand x Brand" format... What has the world become.

We all know Nas is the greatest emcee to grace the microphone but he just can't seem to get it right. Count another failed relationship for Nas. He can't seem to stop knocking women up and breaking up with them in the process.
Our beloved Kelis has broken it off with the G.O.A.T. of rap and it's official via the papers below via Vibe.
Sidenote: As you see in the picture above, Nas has a tattoo of Kelis on his arm. What a waste. That's the ultimate loss in my opinion.

There are MILLIONS of iPhones out there in the world... Apple is approaching 1 Billion applications sold through their App Store. However, we haven't seen any action games reminiscent of the GTA 1 and 2 we saw on systems like the PS1 and the Gameboy. However, a small company out of Europe has solved the problem. I present to you, Car Jack Streets...
The Game is about Randal Myers, who turns to gambling and racks up a 1 million dollar debt that he must repay to the mob. With the assistance of his Uncle Murphy, Randal must repay Mob Boss Frankie $50,000 every week.
Getting money is almost the same as GTA where you complete odd-jobs such as driving taxis, hits, stealing cars, delivering pizza, etc... You even get police stars and everything. The cops come after you. And there's flamethrowers. In addition, the game takes place in real time, so 9PM in your world is 9PM in the game. And there are missions that can only be completed at certain times. Maybe you get to pimp some hoes if you play at 3AM. Who knows...
The game is set to release any day now and should be out before May 1st but could be out as soon as Sunday. It will be available in the Apple iTunes App Store for $4.99
Click "Read More" for screenshots from the Game. And watch the videos below.
D-Block went out to Brooklyn to shoot a scene for their video. The scene looks typical of any Brooklyn or Queens hood, people standing around, cars, beers, etc... They were shooting a party scene in Bed Stuy, reminiscent of the Notorious BIG "One More Chance" video (posted below). The guest list was stacked: Kid Capri, Jim Jones, Jermaine Dupree, and Pete Rock Pete Rock Pete Rock...
The compilation album "No Security" drops June 2nd from the D-Block trio. Jadakiss' "The Last Kiss" is in stores RIGHT NOW after having sold 135,000 its first week.

Now I'm not one for hype but the Air Yeezy bug bit me long time ago. Fun fact about me: I am absolutely against Kanye West for reasons that would require another entry to write out. Mainly I think he's selling out his fans and is trying TOO hard to be a rap anomaly (thank Jesus for spell check).
Well, in making my rounds I discovered these Air Yeezys on NiceKicks. I've been in love with the Yeezys since I saw the black and pink pair. Even tho I don't like Kanye, I think these sneakers were designed good and deserve the hype they get. The color choices are also on point. Yet another quality Nike creation. Check the pics below and comment on what you think about them. Click "Read More" for more pics.

This beef bores me. So I've got nothing to write about it. Except: They need to get like Jada because he knows how you can get dragged into beef first hand and has recently stated he wants no part in that. It's a waste of time. I guess we now know who are the high-schoolers of the rap game.

I was just talking with Brownie about this yesterday but your boy Jada won't stop getting coverage on this blog mainly because I think he makes good music and I love the new album and I support real rappers. Anyway, he was on 106 and Park with Nas, the Lox, and Diddy. The first video is of the interview Jada and The Lox, the second vid is of Jada and Nasty Nas.
Ok... I'm no Soulja Boy fan although I'll come out and say I respect what he does. We're the same age, he's rich... I'm not. So I respect what he does. Also, it's been a while since we've had TRUE characters in the rap game, regardless of the music they make. Soulja Boy buzzes...
Anyway, I was making my rounds and stumbled across this article on the famous All Hip Hop blog:
(Click Read More for the whole article)
"The Duluth News Tribune reports the concert, which was held last Friday (April 3) at the school’s Romano Gym, attracted a group of students who staged a protest in response to what they deemed as “degrading lyrics” towards women...
The track contains the lyrics: “Pimp slap dat hoe man, show her what you know man, Give her what she need man right side her face man.”
“This isn’t OK for this to happen,” the UMD student told the Tribune. “To bring in an artist that degrades half the student body as sex objects and the other half as sexual assault perpetrators; that form of degradation is not acceptable.” "
Now... I personally think these people are being a little too sensitive... It's music and if people want to listen to it, then that's their prerogative. If you think the lyrics are too much, don't attend the concert. Don't listen to it. Did they really believe they made a point by doing that stuff? Soulja Boy is still going to sell records (I mean... ringtones) and people are still going to invite him to their shows, concerts, etc... Music is so completely subjective that there was no chance they'd change the minds of the people who already had their minds set on attending that concert. That's like how PETA throws paint on people's furs and now the general public think's theyre all just crazy fanatics... I know GIRLS that listen to Soulja Boy and other "degrading" artists. If it's catchy, you can tap your foot to it, it's music and thats all some people need...
With that said, Death to the EMO stuff... Stop being bitchmade...
Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em may have many fans, but the rapper attracted a different crowd for a recent performance at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
The Duluth News Tribune reports the concert, which was held last Friday (April 3) at the school’s Romano Gym, attracted a group of students who staged a protest in response to what they deemed as “degrading lyrics” towards women.
For protest organizer Arielle Schnur, the decision to book Soulja Boy for the show demonstrated a lack of judgement by the UMD student entertainment committee, which selected the rapper for the concert based on budget, the university’s schedule versus an artists’ availability and the popularity of the artist among students.
Committee members capatilized on Soulja Boy's standing on the Billboard charts as well as his affordable performance fee to secure a guaranteed concert appearnance.
Schnur referenced the Soulja Boy’s song, “Pimp Slap Dat Hoe,” as an example of the type of content she found troubling.
The track contains the lyrics: “Pimp slap dat hoe man, show her what you know man, Give her what she need man right side her face man.”
“This isn’t OK for this to happen,” the UMD student told the Tribune. “To bring in an artist that degrades half the student body as sex objects and the other half as sexual assault perpetrators; that form of degradation is not acceptable.”
“The issue with the Soulja Boy concert is that it’s happening at UMD and UMD is an institution of higher learning,” she added. “His lyrics are not conducive to an atmosphere of enlightenment and education.”
Stationed outside the gym, protestors made their views known as they peacefully gathered without preventing concertgoers from attending the Soulja Boy or disrupting the show.
The group followed the demonstration with its own concert in Kirby Lounge that featured local groups and artists.
The protest came as a surprise to Soulja Boy who weighed in on the opposition before taking the stage in front of a sold out crowd.
“WTF I'm in Minnesota its a group of maf**kaz prtoesting my show this sh*t on all the news!!,” the rapper stated via his Twitter.com page. “Mann these people better get the f**k on! I could have been In New York new jointing 'Turn My Swag On'!!!! They say I'm breaking a record for the people attending the show tonight, umma act a fool!!!!”
Despite the presence of protestors, Soulja Boy admitted to the show coming off well.
“Just got off stage!!! I shut it downnn!!!!... That was like the best show I ever did umma put A Bonus DVD that show in my reloaded album release,” he Twittered. “I just wanna let every1 who came to my show tonight kno I had a REAL GOOD time here! Thanks for the love, best time I had on tour in a while”
The UMD protest is the latest in a string of criticism leveled at Soulja Boy, who has come under fire for his lyrics since coming on the scene with his hit single “Crank That (Soulja Boy).”
The rapper is currently enjoying in the popularity of his #1 single, “Kiss Me Thru the Phone,” the second single off his latest album, iSouljaBoyTellem.

If you know anything about something (I'm going to be using that a lot from here on), you know that Jadakiss's album The Last Kiss is releasing tomorrow, April 7th, after being pushed back from an original March 10th release date.
Jadakiss, right now, is one of the foremost rappers still doing it... I'm not discrediting Soulja Boy but Jadakiss might have that number one spot in this moment. He murks any song as far as content and flow goes, he also murks any remix, and even sexes RnB songs. Damn.
If you haven't heard Kiss My Ass the mixtape, check it out here (from NahRight.com). This mixtape will give you a taste of what's to come.
Anyway, make sure you go to BestBuy or The Wiz (lol) to pick up that album. It's Oh Nine and rap is making a rally back to the forefront of music. Support good rap, even if you get down with the shitty rap. Learn to get down with both.
Kiss will be signing records at these locaitons:

Thursday April 9th 4:00 PM

If you know something about anything, you know that the Nike x Kanye West collaboration "Air Yeezy" sneakers released in one colorway this past weekend at a premium price of $215 dollars. People lined up for these. People resold these for more money. People went crazy about these.
Check out this vid by Davy Greenberg about what transcended this weekend.
Also, click "Read More" to see my own commentary on what I think about these kicks.

The Air Yeezy is one of the most expensive Nike sneakers as far as retail goes. At a price of $215, these beat out Foamposites as well as Air Jordan XVII's which came with a small suitcase and the Spiz'Ikes (If i can remember correctly).
Of course I'm going to go ahead and say, these were sold on the name alone. Kanye West, being the presence he is in the music industry (as gay as he may seem), holds name recognition. These were super-hyped. Although I like them aesthetically, I hate the fact that they're selling the name of an artist I don't even like. But hey... Who am I do discredit their marketing...

If you know me well, you know I'm a music head. I mainly listen to rap/hip-hop as well as reggae, rnb, and jazz. But I'm a rap music type of guy.
Now we all know Illmatic is the greatest rap album of all time, or at least I think it is. That's so easy to tell though. What's the number 2? I'm going to give you my take on it. There are tons of rappers: Jay-Z, Rakim, Kool G Rap, Scarface, etc... that could take that number 2 title. That's cool... When it boils down to replay value, character, and approach I'm going to say Legal Drug Money is the number 2. Legal Drug Money wasn't like your typical album, commercialized to make sales. It was music made by certain type of people, and for certain people. Outside of New York City a lot of people don't know Mr. Cheeks, Spig Nice, Pretty Lou, and Freaky Tah (R.I.P.). They don't even know about LB Fam (which still gets repped in Queens). Maybe I'm partial from Queens but when I hear that album, knowing they talk about the same Linden Blvd that I walk up and down, it hits close to home.
Download Legal Drug Money (off iTunes of course. Pay for it you cheap bastards!)

Yesterday, I reported on the latest Soulja Boy vs. Bow Wow Lambo competition. Today we've got an update from Bow Wow. This whole beef is getting kind of childish, considering the Rick Ross vs. 50 cent beef is going on. However, I like this one better.
The video shows Bow Wow "showing" his papers, and black card. The black card may be his, I think it has a 100,000 limit (which is why he said go buy 100,000 worth). The papers though, he never really shows them. They could be for a BMW M3 for all we know. At least Soulja Boy showed on his papers where it says Lamborghini. I still think our friend Mister Tellem has the leg up here. I do think that Bow Wow will win with his rented Lambo.

Rap is outta control. We've got a few feuds going on right now as you guys know. I know you've been listening to HOT 97 or some radio station and know about the 50 cent vs. Rick Ross. There's also the Soulja Boy vs. Bow Wow war. And I think it's over...

Soulja Boy posts up his lambo and title with his name on it

Well, Lil' Kim's disdain with the way she was portrayed in the movie "Notorious" has been public for a while. Voletta Wallace, Faye, and even Charli Baltimore have addressed it but here we have a video blog from Diddy and D-Roc backing her up and stressing that the movie is about Biggie, not about all the little side dramas. It's a skimming of his life and of course with any movie there are imperfections. Check the video. Lil Kim will always be the Queen Bee anyway. Of course there are those who came before her, MC Lyte, Queen Latifah but she etched herself into a piece of Rap history as well.

"Updating". Right... Circuit City, one of the worlds largest electronic retailers and popular Black Friday "hangout" spot is gone. Closed. Kaputz. After filing for Bankruptcy protection back in November, Circuit City has not been able to bounce back and has clearly failed. After having it's stock dropping 90% since early 2008, the company will unleash another 30,000 workers into the unemployed masses.
Guess it's time to shop at Best Buy.
From the NY Times
No drumroll. Brilliant idea of the week / month so far goes to Mishka for this shirt. It's fly, more fly than US Airways and the Hudson river. Mishka openly admits that they have caved into the pressure of all underground brands to produce an Obama shirt. But, in normal, jaded, Mishka fashion, they have produced this. What other than a blue lambo with blue wheels better represents the times we live in?
Click this link to check it out. Click "Read More" below the pic for another picture. Yeah. I bought one.
Damn. Mr. Yahh Bitch Yahh might be a closet homo (excuse me). I've always suspected it but... Now a video of a guy claiming Soulja Boy's love? Mr. Soulja Boy might soon get flamed nationally for being an undercover homo. If you're going to be a homo, be a homo don't try to front on some straight guy moves. That's the way I see it. Check the vid.
This could also be a HUGE joke by someone or even a HUGE joke by AllHipHop.com but who knows. I still believe it whether the vid is real or not.

Everyone remembers years back when Chrysler introduced their 300 model. Coined the "Hood Bentley" because of its frequent appearances in the hood tricked out with huge rims and flashy features and its large, fine mesh, bentley-esq grill, the car was the savior of Chrysler. Of course years later they still managed to fail (and got bailed out) but, in the moment the car served it's purpose.
Well Chrysler has done it again. Although this one isn't like a bentley, I'm sure we'll see it appear everywhere soon. The Chrysler 200C Hybrid/Electric. If didn't already notice, it has a Hybrid engine and a smooth interior. Click Read More to check out the pics. From Carscoop.
